Metadata describes a work: its title, artist, date, materials, and collection. An artwork image is a separate item, with its own rights and conditions of use.

ArtRanks combines selected openly licensed collection metadata with original biographical summaries and links to their references. A source marked “Reference only” does not grant permission to copy its text or images. The license shown for an open dataset applies to that dataset.

ArtRanks does not copy artwork photographs from these sources. Source attribution and reference links stay attached to profiles and records so that information can be checked in its original context.

Sources include selected MoMA open collection metadata, artist websites, and institutional biographies. Original ArtRanks profiles can be added independently of museum holdings when reliable public sources support Palestinian identity and visual-art practice.

This selection is a small beginning. It does not represent all Palestinian artists, their complete bodies of work, or every institution that holds their art. Further sources can broaden coverage across Palestine and the worldwide diaspora.

A collection’s nationality field may differ from the public biographical description. It is retained as attributed context and does not decide inclusion.
